Creating Name Recognition with No Budget

Building a brand with little to no money can be difficult, but it is not impossible. There are ways to get your name into a community without spending a lot. Here are a few examples that can cost time, but save you some money to start.

Door-Knocking - This activity can be very intimidating. It takes a lot of courage to knock on a strangers door and introduce yourself. However, not a lot of agents do this form of marketing anymore. So it will make you stand out. The best approach with door-knocking, is coming from a place of service. What can you do to help them?

Sphere of Influence Calls - This is the easiest way to get started and it costs nothing. You just reach out to past clients, friends, and family. Let them know how the market is changing and that you’re there to help them out if they decide to buy and/or sell. The point of calling is not to get an appointment with the person on the other line; it is to create that connection and build the relationship. This will go a long way in establishing yourself and creating name recognition.

Marketing presence - Getting involved in your market and community. Support local events, do a spotlight social media post of a local shop/restaurant. The most important thing is to get your face out here in the community. Let people get to know you and your name. That way they remember you and will know that you are the real estate expert in the area.

Digital Farming - Facebook is a good source to do digital farming. Join the community group that want to farm. From there, just be involved. If someone is needing a contact for a handyman, you can share your contact. If someone is needing assistance, offer your help. For every 10 shares or social type posts, you can post a real estate-related post. It is not advised to post listings, but you can offer items of value like market reports or your buyer/seller guides. Eventually, you’re the name they remember when they consider their real estate needs.

Community Outreach - This is a fantastic way to network with others and be visible in a charitable way. You can also offer to set a portion of your commission to go to a charity of choice.
